|
|
I have an ADC-42 which plugs into the parallel port. When I run the Picoscope software the computer slows to a crawl, so bad that it takes me a couple of minutes to move the mouse pointer to the top-right corner so I can close the software down. This happens on the two machines I have tried so far, a 1GHz P3 desktop and a 2 GHz P4 laptop.
Running all other software including some quite complex DTP packages these machines fly along.
Any idea what I am doing wrong? OS is MS Windows 2000 Professional with all service packs installed. The machines are off the network and no anti-virus program is running.

Hi and thank you for your post.
This is because the device is poling and slowing the computer down, one way to get round this is to purchase a parallel to usb adapter. This device was specifically designed and only works with all our parallel ported products.

Hope this helps. |
