Hi
we want to be able to record a digital input from a machine to a computer (serial, parrell, usb, doesnt matter) and record an occuance of this digital input into excel (like a counter) we can make the digital output from the machine anything from 2.5V to 25V. this is for a custom cutting machine that we want to count the cuts. our engineer can propose a digital output for us it is just knowing what device we need between the machine and the pc.
any help would be greatly appriciated. if any of this makes sense.

Hi

Thank you for your post.

The only device we have with a dedicated digital input is the ADC-24. This has 4 digital IOs. Our software will not be able to count pulses as it samples at regular intervals and just builds up a picture over time. If you require to count then you will need to program this yourself in VB/Excel. We provide drivers and basic examples to get you started with programming your own software for use with our devices.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Best Regards
