I am wondering whether my laptop computer has sufficient capacity to power the TC-08 from the serial port. Soon after connecting the TC-08 I found that the serial port was no longer functioning. Fortuneately the suppliers repaired the laptop under warranty - it required replacement of the motherboard! There is no separate serial board as there is on a standard p.c.
Just a coincidence? Or has anyone had similar experience.
Don't want to risk another expensive repair - at my cost this time. |

Hi
Thank you for your post, I am sorry that you have been seeing problems.
The TC-08 should not damage the serial port of the laptop. If you are worried however, you could use a USB to Serial port adaptor and thus use it on a USB interface.
Hope this helps
Best Regards |
