Hello.
I am of use a PS 5000 to supervise the function from generators, which create an pulse current up to 2300 Amp. These generate an electromagnetic field. If this field disturbs the device?
If so, in which way? |

Hi and thank you for your post. One of our hardware engineers has had a look at your query, here is what he had to say:
It's impossible to say exactly what effects may occur in your application. The PS5000 is tested to comply with European standard
EN61326 (General Immunity) which specifies a certain level of immunity to external electromagnetic fields.
In addition to any interference that might be picked up by the PS5000 itself the CM will need to take usual precautions such as using screened cables and taking care over grounding. You can tell whether any interference is being picked up in the PS5000 itself or on the cables by disconnecting the input cable and shorting the input to the scope (e.g.
with a 50R terminator), and observing whether the interference is still present.
