Multi channel loging

Postby Malcolm Edwards » Mon Apr 07, 2003 10:34 am

Dear Sir,
I want to log 27 k typr thermocouple inputs,
0 - 10 vdc analoue input from a thermal camera,
Up to 10 digital inputs.

Can you recommend products required for loging via a laptop running windows 95.

Hi Malcolm,

The following would be a viable solution for this application:

4 x TC-08 (8 channel thermocouple converters)
1 x ADC-11/12 (11 channel 0-2.5V converter)

The laptop will most likely have a parallel port connector for the ADC-11, however, it will not have enough serial ports for the TC-08s (they require one each). We can supply USB to serial port converters for any additional ports you require (I believe you need Win98 to use USB though).

Notice that the ADC-11 only has 0-2.5V inputs, so if you require 0-10V you will need to use a potential divider which you can buy from any electronics component vendor (or make yourself if you know how).
The ADC-11 will measure the high and low of digital signals against time, but it will not decode the signals.

I hope this helps.

Best Regards,
Matt Everett
