Halt capture when PWM is interrupted

Post by dsabol »

Hi,

I am generating a pwm with a 7 ms period and 50% duty cycle. However, every once in a while (anywhere from 100 ms to 1 min) the pwm output skips a period (so the signal flatlines temporarily). Right now I have a round about way in firmware on my board which captures the condition so I know when to pause the scope to see what is going on, but it is tedious and hit or miss.

Is there a way I can set it up so that if it does not see a trigger within a specified period of time it halts capture?

Thanks,
David

Can you change it round so that you set a trigger to catch the dropout, not the regular signal. Advanced triggers using Runt or level Drop Out may be appropriate although it depends upon your exact signal.

I'll give it a try.

Thanks for the fast response.
