Properties window with missing borders

Post by Ax2 »

I've browsed the forum but could not find related issue. I noticed that properties windows is a little bit messy and found out that there should be borders around a channel information - which I don't have. I noticed that while moving/resizing PS window there are borders visible however. Video driver/DirectX issue? At least sounds like a bug. Everything else seems to work just fine.
(XPSP3/DirectX 9.0C/Nvidia GeForce6600)

I'm evaluating PS6 with demo device. How do I get ETS triggering available or does it require HW scope?
(PS6.9.14.16)

Hi Ax,

Could you please post a screenshot of the Properties window?

Is the PicoScope 6 window maximised?

ETS triggering is only available with an oscilloscope connected.

Hello. Sure - image attached.
Problem occurs with or without maximization. When I mode non-maximized window, borders are shown during moving.

Hi Ax2,

Does changing the Windows XP Appearance properties have any impact or if you change your Graphics Hardware Acceleration?

I'm not able to repeat your issue on Windows XP running under Virtual Mode on Windows 7.

Please could you send a *.pssettings file for your setup and also the preferences.xml file which you can find in the same folder as your trace.xml file - the instructions to find this are in section 3 of the PicoScope 6 Self-Help Guide:

Hello,

By disabling DirectX acceleration borders become visible. Is there any other way to get this working other than disabling display acceleration globally?
At least we now know what affects this.

Hi Ax,

Have you ensured that your NVIDIA Graphics Card drivers are up to date?

It must be a setting on your PC if turning off the DirectX acceleration restores the borders.

Drivers are up to date. This is the first and the only issue I have seen with DirectX among softwares (in this pc I mean)

Hi Ax,

Could you please confirm via your Add/Remove Programs dialog as to which version(s) of the .NET Framework is/are installed on your PC?

Thanks,

Hi Ax,

Thanks for the info.

Development have been aware of this issue but it has been difficult to reproduce here so unfortunately they won't be investigating further as it seems to affect an old operating system.
