Hi I have been using a pico tc-08 for some years now working ok On windows 2000. But the PC has gone down, We have got a new pc running xp pro, it all works ok but it freezes everyday at least twice a day. We have the latest version of software any ideas why this is happening we are using serial ports. Thanks in advance

I have been running a test with a serial TC-08 and serial to USB converter now for 96 hours without incident.

The only things I can think of are, the power saving options on your laptop/PC or the serial to USB adapter itself.

Did you use this serial to USB adapter on the windows 2000 machine?

we have been using the serial version.

the problem appears to be random. yesterday we had no issues at all but today the count is four.

we are saving all data to a local drive.

Hmm, I am wondering if this could be an issue with the serial port and how much voltage it outputs, the TC-08 needs +/-7V supplied to it from the serial port. Still seems a little odd though, have you tried using a USB to good serial converter?
