Multi-Channel KWh recording

Post by haggis »

I'm new to this forum, and to data-logging.
I require to monitor KWh usage over a minimum of one month on several 240v single phase devices.(20 amp limit per device) I am able to fit sensors to the input leads of these and do not require connectivity to be wireless. Ideally I'd like 5 devices monitored but may well have to do with 3 (looking at available monitors). I'd prefer the logger to hold historical data to be downloaded to a PC, rather tan a permanent PC connection. I'm a retired engineer, requiring this for a hobby project so don't need an industrial/commercial quality device - as cost would be an issue! Hope you can advise me on best way forward.

Hi,
Our only suitable logger is the Enviromon current monitor @ £499 + carriage + VAT which can monitor 3 single phase AC currents for long periods:-

If you wish to monitor five circuits you will need an extra EL040 converter @ £249 and two more current clamps @ £50 each (all plus VAT):-
http://www.picotech.com/e_converters.html#el040

The current clamps are switchable to a x10 sensitivity to get extra resolution on a 0-30A range. The Enviromon system can only measure AC RMS current, not phase angle or true power with poor power factor loads.

PeterF.
