Assuming your running on Windows XP 32 bit....
This worked for me...
Leave the scope attached to the PC, then right click on 'My Computer' and select 'manage', the select 'device manager' and look for a device under 'USB' which has yellow bang ("!") against it. Right click this and select 'uninstall'.
Now remove the scope from the PC and install the software.
Attach the scope at the appropriate time.
I hope this helps.

I have windows vista 32 bit. When i plug in my picoscope i could see the picoscope 2000 name appear at device manager but it does not have the yellow sign. As soon as i run the program for picoscope 6 it disappears from the device manager list. Also, if i uninstall it using device manager and then reinstall it using window it also disappears from the device manager list. Any help please...

I figured it out. When i uninstall my device driver and unplug it and replug it, windows would ask if i wanter to finish the softaware driver installation. I would normally hit yes, but this time i hit no and it finally worked.
