ADC 200 giving jumpy values?

Postby Adam Snitch » Fri Mar 20, 2009 3:02 pm

Hi,

Configuration:
Windows XP
ADC200/50 (have also tried an ADC 200/20)
Picolog for Windows - Release 5.20.3

We have been using tthis setup to record data from a load cell and linear displacement transducer and were previously achieving steady results, but something has changed and now whatever is in channel A will not give a steady change with applied pressure or a change in height. Both of these work fine on port B but jump between values on port A. These values are always the same 3/4 numbers, this is not the output from testing with a Thurlby 1503 digital multimeter. We have tested every component from the input to the computer and cannot work out why this is happening.

Any help to achieve a normal set of values would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot.

Adam Snitch.

Hi Adam

If channel A was previously working correctly, it could be that the unit has developed a fault. The fact that you don't have the same problem when using channel B supports this.

Have you tried measuring a known voltage, such as a DC power supply?
