I have several 212's, but they won't do what I need to do.
I need to collect data at a .5 millisecond sample rate for 5 seconds, stop for about 30 sec, collect (on trigger) for about 5 seconds, etc and continue this for days. I think I need to stream it to my hard drive?
I am collecting AC voltage in the 2 volt range. I can adj my voltage with
the current shunt I am reading across.

Hi have you tried to use PicoLog recorder in Fast Block Mode, and chosen action at end of run repeat after a certain delay?

I have read about it, I don't think that will allow me to log for days in that mode. I really want to get a newer scope (spend money) that will run the later software and also give me a usb connection over the parallel connection (with usb adapter) that I am using.

You can log with the ADC-212 in this mode to accomplish what you are trying to do, you can log for days, you will be limited on how long you can long by how much hard drive space you have.

If you do not need to delay the restart of the logging for 30 seconds and instead start logging again as soon as the trigger is met again you may also use PicoScope 5. Using the save on trigger function you may do this. Some are more comfortable with the interface of PicoScope 5 more than PicoLog hence the reason why I bring this up.

For upgrading your current scope to a USB model you should look at the PS3224, PS3424, PS4224 and the PS4424 models. These are all USB connected and powered units. The deeper buffer sizes on all of these models will greatly impress you compared to the ADC-212's that you currently own. You can quickly compare the specs online at http://www.pc-oscilloscopes.com/oscillo ... rison.html to compare the actual number of samples you will see on the screen.

I have a test running which is measuring leakage current on various insulators. The samples cycle on a wheel which cycles at 40 seconds energized at some KV voltage and 10 seconds inbetween samples. I want to measure the charge current (which includes corona) for about 5 seconds. (60Hz). I want to wait then untill the next sample, trigger on current and record for 5 sec, turn off and wait, etc.
I want to store this data..text or spreadsheet, over a long period of time...days to weeks. I would want my sample rate to be at least 1 millisec. My voltage is from a CT-with a resitive shunt which I have made to allow for about +/- 2 VAC to 5 VAC. This voltage increases over time.

I can collect the data but have huge files. It would be great if I could just take the rms value of my 5 sec collection and store this.
