I have found that setting the trigger threshold too high also hangs the computer. The suggestion of clicking "Stop" and then hitting F9 or F10 is not practical as the cursor cannot move.

Control/Alt/Delete also would not work, and I found it necessary to press the computer Reset button and undergo a slow, painful re-boot.

Is there anything I have missed?

I am able to recreate the lock-up with an ADC-42 and PicoScope R5.17.1.
The lock-up seems to occur as the trigger level reaches the peak signal level, which is not typically done in practice.

What is the specification of your PC and which PicoScope version are you using, as I am unable to recreate the PC lock-up problem that you have reported.
