I need to extend the usb cable on the humidiprobe, when plugged in directly it works fine but when I introduce an extension cable it does nothing ( like it can't see the probe ) is there a special lead for this or some other way to get over this problem.

Hi and thank you for your post.
The maximum length of the USB cable is 5 meters, the cable we supply is 4.5 meters long. Any loner and you would need a USB hub, alternatively there are manufacturers who make USB to Ethernet cables that can run for significantly longer lengths.
