Hi.
I have recently had installed Solar-Water and Solar-PV (Photovoltaic) systems.
As part of the deal, I promised to computerise data collection from these systems. The trouble is, I am unsure what datalogger(s) to purchase...
I have 3 temperatures to record from the Solar-Water, and current and voltage to record from the Solar-PV.
What would be the best setup for recording this data effectively and cheaply?
Accuracy is not that important - within a degC and a few tens of Watts.
USB is preferred, but if I can run USB to RS232, that's not too much of a problem. Probems start when a printer port is required as the capturing PC is a Mini-ITX and is minus such.
Many thanks,
Susan. |

Having spoken to a very helpful sales rep, here's the lineup of components (in case anyone is interested) -
TC-08 Datalogger +3 Type K thermocouples to measure the temperature of the solar water system
A PS-3224 Oscilloscope used as a datalogger with a PP264 60A Current Clamp for the current measurement on the solar electric panel and an MI053 differential current clamp for the mains voltage measurements (Watts = Volts x Amps).
Gonna cost a bit, but it should be fun.
Thanks folks. |
