I have a TC-08 that may require calibration. I haven’t had any accuracy problems, but the calibration certificate on the back of the unit is expired. We like to keep our test equipment calibrated on a regular basis to ensure accuracy and for quality reasons.

Is calibration required on a regular basis? Can I use a third party to do the calibration for me?

Hello Arleyl,

Calibration is not usually required on a regular basis, the calibration stays within specs for quite a long period of time. If you do want to keep the certificate valid though (they expire yearly) your unit will need to be sent in to be calibrated. A 3rd party can check the calibration but they will not be able to recalibrate it. This is strictly done by Pico as the calibration is stored on the unit itself. To get your TC-08 calibrated simply email support@picotech.com with your contact details and they will respond with the costs and shipping information.

Cheers,
Richard Boyd
