Old ADC100 on new XP laptop

I have 2 adc100 bought about 6 years ago which we use regularly on laptops running win98. Have now upgraded to new laptop with XP on and now only get a small square wave. From reading other postings it seems I need to use an adapter which now comes with the hardware but were not about when I bought ours. Can I get these adapters, do I need these adapters and if how quickly can i get them and where from?

Yes, it does appear that you need this adaptor.
