Hi thanks for the phone assistance on modems the siemens t35 seems to replace the m20 and works with enviromon!
other things:
the connection to modem using the adaptor requires a gender changer and cable etc can i make up my own cable and make the part going to El008 a null modem thus replacing the El033 adaptor?
How can i make the PC automatically call up the datalogger at a preset time for each period of logging? assuming enviromon program is open on the pc
thks rpm

Hi,

Thank you for your question.

Unfortunately, I do not have the information that you will need to make your own gender changer.

Enviromon is unable to set a time when to collect the data from the logger. It might be possible to do this with a scheduler software, that will run Enviromon at a particular time. Enviromon can be set up to connect on start up and download the details, then disconnect once the data has been recieved.

Best regards,

Thanks for this scheduler works fine.
Can you advaise as follows:
1. is the modem adaptor in essence a null modem?
2. Should the enviromon be capable of reconfiguration over modem link when I have tried this it usually sticks at halt sampling
3. When the link is changed from direct to modem must it be directly connected to computer before the set link command
4. With a remote set up it would be usual to program the unit using a lap top and then install the software on the eventual host can this be done using a direct copy of the pico folder from the lap top to the desk top?
I have win 2000 on the lap top and XP on the desk top and the logger reports inconsistant configuration file
5. The internal channel set to current reporting indicates Deg c on the EL008 but mA on the PC screen how is this corrected?
Thks for your continued support

Hi

Thank you for your post.

The modem adaptor is in essence a modem, I am not too sure what you mean by "null modem".

I do not believe the Enviromon is capable of reconfiguration over a modem link, however I will look into this further.

The unit does need to be connected directly for the set link command.

For remote setup the important file that needs to be transferred is the envimon.ini file. You should also make sure you have the same path for data.

With regards the internal setup of the EL008, I am unable to comment as to how this works so cannot say as to how to correct this problem. You might like to experiment with your setup to see if there is something there which fixes it.

Hope this helps

Best Regards
