Hi
I am looking to set up Temperature and Humidity monitoring of an ant colony showcase, so needs to be durable in high humidity 70%-90%.

This can be linked to a local PC, but I would like to be able to view data remotely on a OS X Mac, or web browser.

Can this be done with PC Based Temperature and Humidity monitoring
http://www.picotech.com/humidity.html
and EnviroMon software runninng on local PC, EnviroMon seems a bit over the top for this one application.

Or do I need to use this?...
EnviroMon Data Logging System

Hi,

Thank you for your detailed project plan.

I have a few additional questions, is the humidity and temperature to test the room that the ant colony is kept in or is it to actually measure the ant colony, and be inserted into the case.

If it is the latter and it is possible that the ants can get near the humidity sensor then this would not be suitable.

The RH-02 can be viewed over a network, using a client/server mode, but only on Microsoft operating systems Window 95 upwards and NT upwards, we do not have any Mac software. To use it on a browser you would need to write your own software.

The Enviromon System can also be used over a client/server, and also be set up to display the results on a browser. However, you would need to write your own html code. An example how to achieve this is available from our website.

If you have any further questions I would be happy to help.

Best regards,

hi,

i have a couple of questions about the RH-02. i'd like to use a couple in our manufacturing area, but i need to know how long the cable can be made and if you would expect any signal loss over approximately 50 feet.

thanks,

Hi,

Thank you for your question.

The cable on the Serial side can be upto 50 feet without loss of signal. On the sensor side the distance can be upto 10 feet.

Best regards,
