The automotive kit doesn't connect to the engine management system (ECU) of a car, but instead provides methods for analysing the electronic signals from the sensors and actuators on a car. The kit includes capacitive pick-up leads to measure the secondary ignition of a car (high voltage) and normal probes to measure the alternator output voltage (low voltage).

This makes the system very versatile and non vehicle specific.
