|

Hi,
I've got a ADC16 and thermocouples K. I'm asked to use thermocouples with this ADC 16, but I think I cannot use thermocouples directly plugged on ADC16, because of the cold junction, the amplification of the signal and the scaling factor.
Do I need a conditioner? Which one?
I'm just starting a new job and I wonder why a ADC16 has been choosen just to use thermocouples whereas the TC08 is made for that?
Thanks |

Hello Nicolas,
You are correct regarding both the ADC-16 and TC-08, however, it is possible to adapt the ADC-16 to use a thermocouple, and that will require some work on your part.
Please review the information provided in the ADC-16 Teminal Board user guide http://www.picotech.com/document/pdf/adc16_terminal_board_instructions-en.pdf
Regards
