Hi and thank you for post.

This is because it cannot find the device, this could be due to a number of reasons

1) Device is not plugged in
2) Faulty or incorrect cable
3) Wrong com port selected.
4) Faulty Unit.

You will need a straight through male to female serial port cable. If you are using a USB to serial converter make sure the drivers are installed and you know which COM port it is on.

If all fails try installing it on another PC and see if the problem persists.

Let me know how you get on.

Kind regards

Hey Ziko,
I checked all mentioned points but I couldn´t find any mistakes at my system.
What I tried next was to setup an new Account on my computer.
After I did that PicoLog worked for a few days. But now I have the same problem as a few days before.
Many you have another good idea

Best greetings
Michel

Hi the only thing I can really think of is trying it out on another computer. You say you set up another account, so I assume you tried it on the same PC. So to eliminate the PC out fo the equation I would try and find another computer.

In any case are you using a laptop? If so are there any power saving modes on it that could cause this issue?

Kind regards

Hey, I tried several account on the same computer with same results.
If the driver problem shows up on my account.
I tried another one from my colleges on the same computer.
It showed out that the driver problem was only on my account.
My colleges hadn´t any driver problem. They could start the program without any problems.
So I guess the problem is somewhere in config-file or somewhere else.

King regards
Michel

Hi Michel, sorry I was away recently and have only had a chance to look at the forums this week.

You have two options now,

1) Try the PT104 on a completely different computer
2) if you tried this and still have the same problem or just want to send the unit back to us to see if needs repairs.

I would email us at suppot@picotech.com and we will take it from there.

Kind regards
