When I record one channel and output the file as .txt, I get a time column and a data column. If I record two channels and output the file as .txt, the two data channels are merged with no spaces or tab between them and cannot be read by any program that I am aware of, certainly not Excel.
The work around I use is to copy the data to the clip board and paste it into something like Notepad. Is there a better way? |

Hi and thank you for your post. What version of the software are you running? I have tried to recreate this on the latest version of our software , 5.17.1, with no luck.
Kind regards |

I have installed 5.17.1
When I want to convert a picolog file to text, after I select .txt as the type, I have to append .txt to the file name or picolog will attempt to over write the orginal file. Why doesn't picolog automatically recognize the file as a differnt type?
The text file that is written does not have column headers identifying the columns. If I want column headers I still have to copy the file to the clipboard and paste it into Notepad. |

Hi I do not quite understand your first point. There are two ways of saving as a text file, either
from the main menu you choose "File -> save as" then type in a name and then selecting the text file extension from the pull down menu. You are correct in saying it does not show the headings, I will have a word with the software engineers to see if they can do something about it on the next release.
Or from the spreadsheet view, you highlight all the data by selecting the blue button, then pressing on the write to disk button, giving it a name and then selecting the text file extension from the pull down menu. This does show the headings.
Hope this helps.
