Hello i have a TA009 Current clamp connected to a ADC212 Picoscope i am trying to find out haow to set it up to both view and record the current usage of a 240V AC household appliance. Can anyone tell me how to do this please?
The TA009 current clamp has an output of 10mV per amp if you were to choose the 60A setting or 100mA/V if you were to choose the 20A settings. So you have to do some scaling using a look up table.
For example for the 60A settings using the custom ranges option you would put something like
-600 -60
0 0
600 60
This shows three pairs each pair has the raw value (in mV) then the scaled value, also you can add units to it. Please see the attached file.
Then from the voltage range input you can select it as shown on the attached image.
Hi Steve, if your voltage is constant then you can increase your scaled value in the lookup table by that factor. This applies to PicoLog and PicoScope.
With PicoLog you can also have under "settings" the "Calculated Parameters" option and you can add channels with calculations in them and multiply channels together, which would be useful if you are measuring the voltage as well. Please have a look at the following link on page 38
