We need to measure temperatures -10 to +20 in three locations withni a plantroom, the TH-03 look ideal but how far can the three sensors reach we need to get about 5 metres away. Does the TH-03 need a computer connected all of the time or only when we return to harvest data?
Should we be thinking of the EL008 instead as this is more complex than we need, if its the unit what sensors would we need to purchase. |

Hi and thank you for your post.
The TH03 needs to be connected to the PC at all times to be able to log data, It uses a serial interface. The sensors sold are 5meters long.
Hope this helps.
Kind regards |

Hi there.
Have you considered Enviromon? Distance to sensors is not a problem and it will run in stand-alone mode (when your PC is turned off for example). See http://www.picotech.com/enviromon.html

I use theTC-08 to monitor all ovens it thr factory. Some are over 120 feet away. It's been running for over 6 years. What we did was cut the standard T/C in 2 and splice in solid 20 gauge copper wire. (it's not t/c wire!)
To maintain calibration we made all wires 120 feet no matter where the go.
The alarm goes off when an oven runs away. In the morning we check for abnormalities and power failures. We do a lot of epoxy curing.
Hope this helps.
