I currently use my 3206 on USB power from a laptop running on battery power because my application requires total isolation from the mains power/ground system.
Can the 5000 series scopes also be run in this mode or does the increased power requirement preclude it.

Hi and thank you for your post.
The 5000 series requires a separate power supply, due to the nature of the high performance components a standard USB socket cannot provide enough current.

Sad but understandable. I guess we'll have to wait for the nex generation of low power ADCs.
