I wish to capture 2 signals at a minimum sample rate of 3Msps ideally 6Msps and stream to hard disk. The 520x can do this apparently but I cannot find all the information I need in the specs and guides, so can you please tell me:

1. Can I stream 6Msps to disk on 2 channels simultaneously? The 5000 series User Guide mentions 13.3Msps (section 4.6) but on the functions web page a maximum of 6Msps is mentioned.
2. Does the Picoscope software provide high speed continuous acquisition directly or is this only available through the API using customer-written software?
3. Is there a limit to continuous file sizes or is this only limited by disk space?

Thanks

...and can you please confirm that the 3206 definitely does not support high speed (megasamples) streaming and that the only 3000 models that do are the 3224 & 3424?

Thanks

Hi and thank you for your post.

1) It is true that you can achieve up to 13.3 MS/s however this is under optimpal conditions, i.e. the speed of your PC and if any applications are running in the background. So it is possible that you can achieve 6MS/s on two channels but as I said it does depend on your PC.

2) The software does not provide continuous streaming since there is always a small delay between each screen worth of data. You would have to write your own software to achieve the continuous streaming. You can download the software APIs from our website at

http://www.picotech.com/software.html

3)The limit really is dependant on your PC i.e. your system RAM.

4) The 320x currently does not support fast streaming, so at this instant the 3224/3 and 3424/3 are the only products that support fast streaming.

Hope this helps.
