I am trying to record the mains a/c current flowing through an electric heater at the same time as the temperarture is the water. Temperature is fine, but I can only see a way of recording DC current which of course fluctuates at 50 HZ. I'd like to see AC RMS, or something that does not aveages to zero.

Can I do this ? How ?

My setup is Picoscope 2202 USB with current clamp TA018. I am using TC-08 serial for data logging.

Hi Mike

Have a look at Pico's range of current clamps http://accessories.picotech.com/current_clamps.html. Something like the 300 A AC current clamp might be suitable. This will output 1 mV per Amp.

Let me know if you have any questions.
