"Port not opened" error on Windows 2000

Hi,

I have written my own software in VB6 which successfully opens the ADC11 unit on LPT1 (port 1) on a Windows 98 system, but on a Windows 2000 machine, it reports and error - "Port not opened". PicoScope still works fine on the Windows 2000 machine, so why is my own software unable to open the ADC11 unit?

The ADC11 is a V3 and all the latest drivers have been downloaded and the correct OS selected during installation. In the BIOS, the port is set to SPP, 0378, IRQ 7.

OK, I've found the answer!

The latest drivers DO solve the problem! However, you MUST place the ADC1132.DLL file in your project folder on a Win 2000 machine, unlike a Win 98 machine where it sits in your Windows\System folder.
