Vespa scooter ignition?

Does anyone have experience using the capacitive pickup with two stroke magnetos with points (as in most older Vespa scooters)? No battery.

Hi,

Thank you for your enquiry. I personally have never used a pickup lead on a scooters ignition system but I can't see why it would not work. If there is a high voltage going down the wire then the pickup should see it, its essentially a 10k:1 attenuator.

can any one give me any info on where the id numbers would be located and where to start troubleshooting the ignition i do not have a spark
