Hi,

I am facing a problem on acquiring data from strain gauge bridge circuit.

I have built a circuit as shown in the document below and the response is quite good.
http://www.engr.mun.ca/~millan/lab2.pdf

I connect the output of amplifier to a channel of ADC11 and monitor that channel with PicoScope. The voltage jumps between 0V and 2.5V continuously. (Looks like digital codeword 010101010101010101.......)

What's going wrong, is it the effect of signal noise? Or, should I common the ground of bridge circuit to pin 1 of ADC11?

Thanks

Richard

Hi

Thank you for your post, I am sorry to hear that you are seeing problems.

What size output should the circuit give? Try testing it with a multimeter to see what output it is giving. If you have a multimeter that you can test the circuit with then this will enable you to see if the error is in the circuit or the ADC-11. I would also recommend testing the ADC-11 with a 1.5V battery to see if it reads that correctly.

Let me know how you get on with this.

Best Regards
