Why is my DrDAQ or ADC-11 faster when I use Pico USB Parallel Port?

When using a DrDAQ or ADC-11 with the Pico USB parallel port, the recording session can be shorter than before, even though PicoLog settings have not been changed!

This is because the USB adapter uses its own internal timing rather than relying on the PC timing which can vary from one PC to PC another. The result is that the requested sampling interval is guaranteed on systems that were previously limited by speed and processing overhead, and therefore, the recording session is shorter.
