Just purchased a 2423 Automotive Kit.
Software installed Picoscope 6.015.
Installation went ok, BUT:
Every time I connect the scope I get a message stating that it would run faster on a USB 2.0 connection. My PC is a Dell Inspiron 6400 only one year old. All of the USB Ports are 2.0.
Does this message indicate that I am connecting at 1.1 speeds?
I did notice while using the scope that it always seems to be in block mode, as the screen updates are not smooth.
While I'm on the subject, is there a difference in the method of storing and playing back waveforms when the scope is in slow sampling mode?
I read that the amount of information saved is limited only by the amount of space on the hard drive.

Thanks for your time
Dave

Dave,

No worries on the 'device can perform faster' message. It will run at the 2.0 speed on your PC. Just ignore the message.

You'll be in block mode until you enter streaming mode at 100ms/div.

The data in streaming mode is saved directly to RAM. All screens will be saved in the Waveform Buffer Index until you have reached the data limit or the screen limit you have set, whichever comes first, then older screens fall off as new ones arrive. So, it's always recording. When you have stopped acquisition you may choose to save one screen or the entire index to your HD.
