I've got a newsletter about new PicoScope 9000 series. Please make clear why PicoScope 9000 cannot be used for sampling single-shot signals? What is the principal difference between 5000 and 9000 series?

Hi the 9000 is a sampling oscilloscope, it works by building up a picture of a repetitive signal over many times.

It is designed specifically for the complex task of analysing high-speed electrical signals, used in signal analysis, timing analysis, testing and design of high-speed digital communication systems, network analysis, semiconductor testing, and research and development.

It is completely different to the 5000 or any of our scopes. The 5000 can sample at 1GS/s single shot. So two different scopes for very different applications.

Hope this helps.

It helps, thanks. I dont need Picoscope 9000 really. I'm still wandering why it is impossible to sample the single-shot signals at more than 1GS/s using Picoscope 9000.
