I have had a 3424 for about a week and I am quite pleased with it. I had thought when I bought that I would want to record data with Picoscope, but it turns out that Picolog is what I actually want to use. If I had understood what Picolog could do from your website, I would probably have bought six months sooner.

I am still trying to understand the Picolog software. Starting with one topic per post.

I am recording amplified signals from an FM tape recorder. I have not been able to get the calculator to convert the signals to their actual amplitude. Also, when the tape runs at a different speed from the recorded speed the time base is wrong, and if possible I would like to correct that.

I have not been able to get the calculator to do anything on recorded data.

What is "Name" at the beginning of the Add dialog? When I pull down "Input parameters", I see the names of the four channels that I have entered and I can select one. But there are five options. What is "E" for?

If I select the name my A channel and enter "A/40" in the block below, nothing happens. If I want to change all four channels, should I enter equations in four successive sentences?

Can I recalculate the time base?

Of course all of this can be done in Excel, but it would be convenioent to do it in Picolog since the software seems to be there, if I could learn how to use it.

Hi and thank you for your post. I have a few questions:

1) How are you measuring your signal?
2) What is the formula you are using to get your required amplitude?
3) Why do you require different timebases?

I have attached a document I wrote about calculate parameters, please refer to the PicoLog manual for further information regarding the calculated parameters.

http://www.picotech.com/document/document.html

Let me know how you get on.

Kind regards
