I have a ADC212/50 and am trying to install the software on a dell dimension 9200 (XPSP2). I have tried 5.13.7 and and 5.15.6 but both have the same problems. The installation almost completes than 'rolls back' and I get a message saying: ' The wizard was interrupted befor Pico Technology Software could be completely installed. Your system has not been modified. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again." I have rebooted the system, but still get the same message.

Hi

Sorry to hear you having problems with the 'roll-back'. This is a know issue and is being addressed.
A way round this is to use an earlier installation R5.11.08 available here:

Hi and thank you for your post.

This does not happen on all computers so is not easy for us to recreate, the more information you can provide the more it will help us resolve the issue sooner. If you could try the following:

1) Download the latest software and extract it into a separate folder

2) GO into command prompt by pressing the Start Key then click on Run, type in CMD then press enter
3)Go to the directory where you extracted the download and type in the following:

setup.exe /v"/Lv picofull.log"

4) This should run your installation wizard and it will log information in a log file. When the roll back happens and the software exits, attach the picofull.log file in the forum as post.

Kind regards

This may have been a problem with the web download, if you downloaded the 300kB file that connects to the internet to get the required files on some PCs it gives the roll back problem. Now on our website we only have the full download (20MB approx), try downloading this and installing it. This should solve your problem.

Kind regards

I downloaded the PicoFull_r5_16_2 file, (20M) but still have the rollback problem. Do you have the program available without using InstallShield. I use InstallShield myself and know what awful software it is!

Hello

We have fixed a problem with the ADC200 system driver install causing a rollback. As Ziko pointed out, this made the R5.11.08 release. We're still a little confused as to how you are still getting the rollback.

Do you have a parallel port on your pc or do you intend to use the Pico USB-Parallel Port converter?

I don't have a parallel port, so I'm using the Pico USB interface. I did send Ziko a log of the install to debug the issue some time ago.

Hi,
I have discussed this with Mark, try the following installing the software for the PicoScope 3000 (as this is a USB product) and then clicking on the tick box at the bottom (Install For other devices) and see if this installs the software.

Kind regards

I tried installing the 3000 scope and had the same rollback problem as before.

HI, try one other thing.

When you install it and you choose the PicoScope 3000 this time DO NOT click on the "install for other devices" radio button.

Let me know how you get on.

Kind regards

It installs without the option checked. After install if I change the converter to ADC212 and restart I get a "The file adc20032.dll failed to load correctly" error. If I try to reinstall with the option checked then it rolls back again.

Can you install for a PS3000 only and the copy the attached adc20032.dll to the install directory.

I spotted a problem when installing the ADC200 parallel port kernel driver services when there is no parallel port on the PC. If you install for the PS3000 and then manually copy the ADC20032.dll, the USB kernel drivers will also be installed for the ADC212. Changing the converter in PicoScope will then succeed.

I'll file a bug report for the installer. This should be fixed before the next release.
