We are trying to make a labview application to log temperatures from a Pico TC-08 USB.
In the manual it states as follows:

While it is possible to access all of the driver routines described earlier, it is easier to use
the special LabVIEW access routine.
To use this routine, copy usb_tc0832.vi from the DRIVERS subdirectory to your
LabVIEW user.lib directory. You will then need usb_tc08 sub-vi and an example subvi
which demonstrate how to use them. You can use one of these sub-vis for each of the
channels that you wish to measure. The sub-vi returns a temperature for thermocouple
types.

I have downloaded the latest software (R5.13.7) and searched the drives, but can not find the usb_tc0832.vi file.

I have a file that is called usbtc08.vi, but this vi is only an example on how to do a single scan using the DLL and does not contain any sub-vis that can be used.

Where can I find the file that the manual is referring to?

I have found the same problem, and have not really had a suitable response from Pico.

Also in the usbtc08.vi, the for loop contains a 'call library function node', with a numeric constant (107) wired to the tc_type terminal.

I am puzzled as to how the numeric is translated to a thermocouple type, such as T, B, K etc.

The documentation has no refernce whatsoever to this. In fact the documentation regarding the labview example leaves a lot to be desired and needs a great deal of revisiting in my opinion.

Hello Ray and Guest,

I have revised the TC08 VI slightly(please see attached) but will be overhauling the VI libraries.

The 107 reference is actualy an ASCII reference number for the letter "K". The attached TC08 VI has a dropw down selector list to reflect this for all the TC types.

I hope this will get you started.

Best regards,
Michael

Hi,

I was wondering whether it would be possible to send me the revised Labview VI? I need to get my TC08 to log data and collate it with an LCR meter.

Many thanks,

Karl

Hello,

The VI is posted in this forum.

Just choose the option to post a reply and then scroll down the page until you see the topic review pane. Scroll through this part until you find my post with the Zip file and choose to download.

Best regards,
Michael

Michael,

Is it possible to send me a 7.1 version of this new VI ?
We have not upgraded yet to the LabVIEW 8.xx version.

Thanks,
