| How long can the USB cable be for the 3000 series oscilloscopes? Can I use larger gauge cable to extend the length? |

Hi
Thank you for your post.
The USB cable supplied is 1.8m. You can use a longer cable but it needs to be capable of providing the power to the unit. Otherwise you can use a powered hub to extend the cable whilst still keeping power to the unit.
Best Regards |

Snowball,
Fifteen feet is the normal limit for USB but I have achieved distances of over 60 feet using a series of active repeater USB cables. It can be a bit quirky getting it started but is quite reliable once initialized. The data transfer speed is only reduced 10%.
I use this to get live data from a car in a shop and pipe it into my PC in the classroom. |
