I wish to implement my own ammeter by using the ADC (successive approximation) that built in the microcontroller. Is it we should put a pull down resistor at the i/p and compute the current which in term of the measured voltage and that resistor value itself(Ohm's Law), or that ADC itself able to read the current, or any others circuit needed to be add in, i dun know? thanks so much for your kindly reply.

Hi

Thank you for your post.

If you wish to measure current, then you will need to use a shunt resistor and measure the voltage across this. Then, since you know the voltage and you know the resistance, you can as you say use Ohm's law to calculate the current.

Hope this helps

Best Regards
