1.  'Digital Color' and 'Analog Intensity' Modes Added to PicoScope

A new beta version of PicoScope software has been released that contains a number of new display modes for the oscilloscope, these include:

• A new 'Digital Color' display mode for the oscilloscope which is ideal for identifying 'one off' glitches.
• A new 'Analog Intensity' display mode which simulates the operation of a analog scope. This is especially useful for viewing complex modulated signals.
• A new filtered display mode for removing high frequency noise from signals.

Although this software is available for FREE download, please be aware that R5.09.0 is a beta release which has not been fully tested and may contain bugs. For more information, and to download the software visit:

2.  New Science Experiment

Our library of science experiments for data loggers and oscilloscopes continues to grow. New this month is an experiment to measure magnetic induction using the DrDAQ data logger.

3.  Automotive Application Note: Lambda / Oxygen Sensors

Lambda (oxygen) sensors play a crucial role in controlling the exhaust emissions from modern vehicles. This application note explains how they work and what happens when they go wrong.

4.  Technical Tip — IP Networking With PicoLog

If you have a number of PCs connected together by a network, it is possible to connect data logger(s) to one or more computers and view and record the resulting data on another.

One example is the monitoring of temperature and humidity in computer server rooms, a RH02 data logger can be plugged into one of the computers in the server room and the data can then be monitored on another (remote) computer.
