1. New Product — DrDAQ Oxygen Sensor
The DrDAQ oxygen sensor measures the concentration of oxygen gas in air. Unlike many previously available oxygen sensors, the DD103 oxygen sensor can measure the full 0 to 100% range. This makes it ideal for many chemistry, biology and physics experiments.
As with all sensors for the DrDAQ data logger, the oxygen sensor is simple to set up and use, it requires no power supply and will be automatically recognised, so that results are displayed in the correct units.
Visit the DrDAQ data logger website for more information on the oxygen sensor.
2. Application Story — Hillview Animal Sanctuary
Hillview Animal Sanctuary in County Cork, Ireland is a rescue centre for cats and kittens. The sanctuary can have in the region of 100 cats in residence at any one time.
Young kittens and cats in poor condition have specialised requirements for the temperature of their enclosures.
Find out more about how the Pico Technology EnviroMon data logging system is being used to monitor the conditions at the Hillview Animal Sanctuary
3. Automotive Training Days
The automotive training days in February were fully booked and all who attended said how worthwhile it had been.
The next courses in Leeds (UK) are in June and October. We hope to soon be announcing more dates and venues.

4. New Science Experiments
Our library of science experiments for data loggers and oscilloscopes continues to grow. New this month is an experiment showing the use of the DrDAQ Oxygen sensor . This experiment looks at the drop in oxygen levels when a candle is lit in a sealed enclosure.
See this and over sixty other interesting and educational experiments at the Pico Technology library of science experiments
5. Technical tip — Choosing and Using Thermocouples
Many requests received by our support department relate to the selection and use of thermocouples.Typical questions are which type of thermocouple is best for a given application and how will long thermocouple leads affect accuracy?
Answers to these questions (and many more) can be found in our thermocouple application note
