Here is your monthly Test and Measurement update from Pico Technology.

1.  New Product pH Meter / Data Logger

New this month is a low cost kit for measuring and recording pH on a desktop or laptop PC. The kit contains the DrDAQ data logger, pH electrode, temperature sensor, software and instructions.

Most low cost pH data loggers are not suitable for accurate measurement as they do not take account of the fact that pH measurements are temperature dependent. The Pico pH Measuring Kit includes automatic temperature compensation (ATC) to improve measurement accuracy.

The pH data logger is used with PicoLog data acquisition software which allows the collected pH measurements to be viewed both during and after data collection in both spreadsheet and graphical formats. The data can then be printed, emailed or easily exported to other applications such as Excel. Other features, such as the ability to set an alarm if a pH value goes beyond a set value, enable the kit to offer greater flexibility and performance than a standard pH meter.

Existing customers who already own a DrDAQ data logger, pH electrode and temperature sensor can download a free upgrade to PicoLog software to take advantage of the automatic temperature compensation.

2.  New Software Release

A number of new software releases were uploaded onto our website on the 24th December:

PicoScope R5.11.08 has some improvements to update the meter more frequently. Also fixed is a bug that can cause the meter to display different values from the scope.

PicoLog R5.11.08 when used with the DrDAQ data logger now performs automatic temperature compensation for pH measurements. TC-08 drivers R2.07 now include an Agilent Vee example for the USB TC-08.

Software updates can be downloaded free of charge.

3.  Commercial Vehicle Diagnostics Kit Reviewed
