1. New product — USB ADC-11 Data Logger
We are pleased to announce the latest addition to our data acquisition range: the USB ADC-11 data logger which can measure and record voltage from up to 11 channels at either 10 or 12 bit resolution.
The new USB ADC-11 connects to and is powered by the USB port of any modern PC. Compared to the existing parallel port versions of the ADC-11, the USB versions offers faster sampling (20,000 samples per second) and an additional digital output. Users of the existing product can upgrade easily, the input connector has the same pin out and customers who have written their own software for the unit will only have to make minimal changes.
Up to four USB ADC-11 units can be connected to one PC, alternatively a mix of different Pico products can be connected to the same PC. For example you can connect a TC-08 to measure temperature at the same time the ADC-11 measures voltage. In this way you can create large data acquisition systems with high channel counts.
2. PicoScope 3205 PC Oscilloscope Review
Since its release in 2004, the PicoScope 3000 PC oscilloscope series has wowed both users and critics alike.
Comprising of three 8 bit USB PC oscilloscopes, the PicoScope 3000 series all feature high bandwidths and large memories; whilst a fast USB 2.0 interface ensures a quick screen update rate, even when collecting large amounts of data.
Recently Robert Penfold from Everyday Practical Electronics reviewed the PicoScope 3205, and discovered for himself just how good value for money the PicoScope is.

3. Automotive Tutorial — Trigger Signals (Part 2)
Following on from last month's tutorial on trigger signals, this month we continue to look at the signals that determine, when processed, the point of ignition.
This month we look at the Vauxhall Multec, Hall Effect crank angle sensors and the Ford DIS system.
Visit the automotive tutorials section for details of all our automotive tutorials.
4. MTEC Exhibition
This month Pico will be exhibiting at MTEC — the UK's national exhibition for sensors, measurement and instrumentation.
Visit Pico in Hall 11 on stand D123 and see our latest products — including the PicoScope 3000 PC oscilloscope series and the USB TC-08 thermocouple data logger. Our technical specialists will also be available to offer technical advice and discuss any requirements you may have.
MTEC is at the NEC in Birmingham from the 16th to 17th February.
Fast track tickets can be obtained by emailing enquiry@picotech.com
5. New Science Experiment — Series and Parallel Resistance
New to our library of science experiments is an experiment that demonstrates how PicoScope and a data logger can be used to measure both series and parallel resistance in electrical circuits. Ideally suited for those with little or no electronics experience, this experiment proves the formulae used in calculating series and parallel resistance, and introduces the concept of electron flow.
6. Exhibitions and Training Dates
Full details of upcoming exhibitions and training dates can be found on the exhibitions page.
