1. ADC212/100 Oscilloscope Reviewed
As mentioned last month, Test and Measurement Europe is the first magazine to review our new ADC-212/100 PC based oscilloscope. The article is a group test that compares our scope with offerings from Tektronix, National Instruments and Fluke.
The full article is now online and can be viewed by following the link below: http://www.picotech.com/press_release.html
2. ADC212/100 Sampling Rate Increased
The ADC212/100 already has an impressive sampling rate of 100MS/s: this, combined with the 12 bit resolution and the large 128k buffer memory, makes it the most powerful oscilloscope in our range.
We are soon to release an upgrade to the ADC212 that will boost the sampling rate for repetitive signals to 5GS/s. A second improvement is a faster download speed between the scope and the PC. This gives an increased screen update rate, especially when working with the full 128K buffer memory.
The good news for existing owners of the ADC212/50 and the ADC212/100 is that the hardware to support these improvements is already built into their unit. The good news for prospective customers is that, despite the improved specification, we will not be increasing the price of the product.
The upgrade for existing customers comes in the form of a new version of PicoScope software. If you own a ADC212/50 or ADC212/100 and would like a beta copy of the software, please send an e-mail to marketing@picotech.com with the subject 'ADC212 beta test software'. When the beta software is available, we will send it to you by e-mail.
More information on the ADC212 range can be found by following the link below. Please note that, until the software is released, the 5GS/s sampling rate for repetitive signals will not be mentioned on the web site. http://www.picotech.com/pc_oscilloscope.html
3. New Science Experiment
Our library of science experiments for data loggers and oscilloscopes continues to grow. New this month is an experiment to look at serial data communications.
See this and over 50 other interesting and educational experiments at: http://www.picotech.com/experiments/index.html
4. New Product — Automotive Breakout Lead
New this month is a 2 pin automotive breakout lead which enables voltage and current measurements to be made from numerous sensors in the engine compartment (injectors, camshaft, knock and coolant).
More details can be found at:http://www.picoauto.com/break-out-lead.html
5. MTEC Exhibition
On Feb 13/14th, Pico Technology will be exhibiting at the MTEC Sensors, Measurement and Instrumentation show at the NEC, Birmingham, UK. Our stand number is 95. If you are visiting this show, we look forward to seeing you.
6. ADC-12 Data Logger — Special Offer
Each month Pico Technology offers a different product at 15% discount for orders placed through e-commerce. For details of this months special offer, follow the link below:

7. Latest Software Releases
As soon as we release new software, it is made available for FREE download from our web site. To check which version you are using, start the software (PicoScope, PicoLog or EnviroMon) and select HELP | ABOUT. The current release is R5.07.4
Software can be downloaded from: http://www.picotech.com/download.html
(Note : the above web page also contains a link to our 'whats new' page which describes recent changes and additions to the software).
8. Ingenuity Unlimited
Everyday Practical Electronics magazine run a monthly column of readers' own circuit design ideas. This column is sponsored by Pico Technology and by submitting a design idea you have a chance to win either an ADC200 oscilloscope or a DrDAQ data logger.
More details can be found at: http://www.epemag.wimborne.co.uk/features.htm
