Answers to questions
- The magnesium would cause the temperature of the acid to increase
- As long as the temperature increased by the same amount then it would be OK. However, do we know that this is the case? A faster reaction rate could mean that the temperature could increase more if the rate of reaction was faster and if you were using surface area as a factor, the temperature could also be changing - ruining your fair test! Food for thought (or investigation) here!
- This should be taken from the students results
- All variables need to be taken into consideration when planning a fair test. Just by being aware of this factor means that you can take it into consideration even if it has no affect on the validity of your test
